Health Canada strongly recommends an individual risk assessment by your own family doctor or a travel medicine provider prior to travelling. Based on your health, the need for vaccinations or any special precautions can be determined.
If you take medication, be sure to pack an extra supply in case you are away for longer than expected. Carrying a duplicate of your original prescription, along with an extra one, is recommended. This is also a good idea if you wear glasses or contact lenses - having the prescription makes it easier to replace them. At the airport, keep medication and eyeglasses with you in your carry-on, rather than checked luggage.
Out of country medical insurance for emergency care is included with your IG Wealth Management Personal Choice Benefits if you have medical coverage. If you have opted out of the Personal Choice medical coverage, please review your alternate coverage to ensure that both you and your travelling companion are adequately covered for the duration of your trip.
You must declare everything acquired abroad, whether purchased for yourself or gifts, as well as goods bought at a Canadian or foreign duty-free store. Keep your original receipts for possible inspection. When calculating the number of days you are absent, do not include the date you leave Canada, but do include the date you return.
Negative molecular test PCR performed 72 hours prior or a negative rapid antigen test performed 24 hours prior to scheduled arrival.
